Silly me. I've never seen this bass before... first I'm like...whyd he chop off the first octave of the bass in his pic? Then I googled it and I'm like, oh that's pretty cool.
17 frets - NICE! I have an arpeggione with only 15 frets What is the nut width on that? And are those regular strings cut off and clamped, or some kind of custom double ball end?
I would need to get back to you on the nut width but I do know that the bass takes regular strings and not custom double ball end. I know that there is a Wing Bass club on TB that answers a lot questions. Cheers!
Technically, you don’t have a nut since we use a zero fret. The string guide that looks like a nut is approximately 3” wide.
