Winter Build Off 2020- The ♾

Truss rod cover on. I routed the letters with cnc, oiled the cover and after oil had dried I used toothpick to fill the letters with black paint. Pickup coils are wound, I'm soldering wires and potting the coils tomorrow. I also have to draw and print a filler piece between bridge pickup covers.

It's finished!
I got the MPU custom humbuckers mounted yesterday. Ceramic magnets, steel blade cores, split humbuckers. Wired vol/blend/tone with push/pull for neck/bridge j on the bridge pickup. I also waxed the bass with Warwick wax and oiled the fretboard.
I'm very pleased with the looks, balance, playability and sound of thiss bass. I was a bit worried about possible neck dive with lightweight chambered body but this one is better balanced than the real Warwick I have (wenge neck, bubinga body). This one is so gentle to my shoulder because of the light weight.
Now I can watch other WBO projects while playing mine.

Here's a quick short soundclip. Bridge pickup only, bridge coils, then neck coils. Neck pickup only. Neck pickup blended 50/50 with bridge coils on bridge pickup and neck pickup blended 50/50 with neck coils on bridge pickup.

Very nice work! I like that you've put some serious engineering into it. You've thought it out carefully, adding lots of hidden details to make it work better, and to make it fit together well. I always like to claim that when I build basses, I build race cars, not show cars. Function first, beauty second. This is a race car bass.

But I also like your styling/visual design. You are bold with lines, edges and shapes. They make a statement, set an attitude. Too many builders go wimpy and make their basses all soft and indecisive.

This is my submission for the Winter-2020 Build off

I was intriqued about Warwick's way of making chambered basses with curved body shape. One thing lead to another and I found myself ordering wood and hardware for a sort of replica of Warwick Infinity.

Neck : Warwick RB Infinity, maple
Finger Board: tiger ebony
Fingerboard radius: 20"
Scale Length: 34"

Strings: Daddario balanced tension
