Wire from pickup came off!

    Right, the wire from the pickup which you connecet to the pot has come off :rollno:

    i solder it back on, making it was connetic with the very fine wire from the pick up winding, and it and its making the plastic surroinding it melt, and also, the solder is cooling dull.

    Is this a good connection, my multimeter says there is no resistance, so does this mean my new joint is okay ?

    If it's showing a short, that should be good.

    The thing to be concerned about is melting the pickup insulators.

    How's it sound? Is the volume and tone about the way you remember it?

    right, it metling the bobbin, didnt quite realise what it was called!
