Anyone know of a good but affordable wireless system suitable for 5 string active bass, where the transmitter also has a 3.5mm socket/vol control etc for an in-ear monitor? I realise I couldn't get a mix but I prefer to play with just one ear monitor hearing just my bass, and hear everything else with the open ear.

I'm sure you already know that method of monitoring is more likely to give you hearing damage than using TWO buds?
That said.. I don't know of a device like you are looking for.

Thanks yeah. Im not concerned about hearing loss as its for a fairly small acoustic/folk type gigs at an outdoor venue using a small PA, that I'm going through too. The PA being far out in front is why I need a monitor. I guess i could haul a bass amp and cab there just as a monitor but it seems like overkill.

Cool.. as far as monitoring, there are the old Rolls "wired" units - PM351 and PM55P - with the latter having a built-in limiter, an absolute necessity if you are going with a wired solution.
