Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by superbassman2000, Jan 21, 2006.

  1. hello cab crew!

I was just wondering how to wire a 2x10 cab in stereo...

i know that many people feel its a dumb thing to do, but i am not interested in discussing the usefulness of this setup, just what i would have to do!

What kind of stereo amp setup are you planning to wire it to? What kind of cab is it, and what connectors are presently on it?

Add a second jack and dedicate each driver to its own.

I imagine it would be no more complex than adding another jack to the back of the cab and dedicating 1-10" speaker for each jack.

The complexity comes in when you have a tweeter and a crossover present. in this case, I'm really not sure how to do it easily. I'm guessing you'd need some way to combine the stereo signal from both amp channels and use a high-pass crossover to feed the tweeter. It might be easier to just buy a new cab that is set up for stereo..unless you dig a challenge!:smug:
