I love this amp head and have absolutely no complaints. It serves me well, except............................

At low practice volumes at home, the fan is a bit noisy, and I'm thinking of wiring in a switch to turn the fan off in these situations only. Any thoughts on this idea? Is it a definite no-no, you'll melt your amp kind of thing? Just wondering and looking for some feedback from the experienced pro's here! :)

thanks guy's, and a Happy New Year to ya'll.

A thermally controled computer fan would be an option, I have an HA3500 but just play over the noise, it's not that bad.
