wiring dimarzio 4 wire jazz pickups

    I just purchased a pair of dimarzio 4 wire jazz bass pickups. having trouble reading diagram with it. does anyone know about how to wire pickups ? thank you in advance.

  2. There are a couple ways to do this.
    The simplest way is to choose series for the coils of each pick-up. (more output, bigger low-end)
    1. Solder the red wire of each pickup to the center leg of its respective volume pot.
    2. Solder the green wire of each pickup to the back of its respective volume pot.
    3. The standard wiring for most humbuckers is series humbucking. To do this, solder the black wire and white
    wire together. Put a piece of tape on this connection so that it does not touch any other part of the circuit. The
    wiring is now complete.

    Because each p/up has 4 wires, you have other options. You could choose Parallel for the coils of each p/up. ( lower output, more definition in the upper frequencies) Or the neat thing to do is install push pull volume pots so you can switch between series and parallel.
    More of a challenge to wire up, but may be worth while if you want all the tone those p/ups can offer.
