Hey, just scored this bass from a fellow TB'r, don't know much about jazz basses!! opened up the controls to check the wiring (1st vol pot is cutting in and out when you bump it) This what I found:

    The bass is wired V-500K A (audio), V-500K A, T-500K B (linear) with a cap 104K (0.1uF)
The pickups look different than typical jazz pups they are chrome covered about 1.25"x3.23" in size?
Would all this be orriginal equipment on this??

Any ideas, ie. rewire to standard Jazz wiring 3-250K A and a .05 uF cap?

Thanks in advance for any ideas>

    here's the bass

Ok, I replaced the faulty V pot with a 500k A, made things brighter, has quite a woody bark to it though. The brightness can be dialed in/out with the tone pot and amp settings. I may just do a rebuild to standard jazz 3-250k A and a .05 cap.
Still wondering if this is orriginal equipment for this bass, if anyone has first hand info?
