heard these guys live, I was at the front of the stage, wolfgang’s rig had 410 cabs and 215 cabs - I don’t subscribe to the mixing cabs is taboo crowd.

    How bout you

  2. I don't subscribe to magazines.

  3. Stuff on TV is fake.
Maybe not all the cabs were hooked up.

It also looks like two heads above the cabs you pointed out.
Maybe he was fake running one head to fake cabs.

You were there. Was it really loud enough that he was actually using all that gear?

I’ve never seen/heard Wolfy live in-person. But, I have never been impressed by his tone in any of the recordings that I’ve heard.

Wolfgang uses different heads to power his cabs. This makes mixing easier, more practical, and less subject to the problems you get when you use one head to power two different cabs. Bear that in mind.

I wear my bass pretty close to that low and I'm pretty darn impressive when I want to be :D Not all of us need or want it strapped up like a bow tie to play.

Not sure where wearing ones bass at a certain height has anything to do with anything.

What you heard was the PA. That's why his cabs are mic'd.

So 625 cabs total, must have been massive sounding :woot:

but he's mic'd to at least one 15" driver, so...

forget the amp...tone is in his pick (or, on the recordings, in his dad's fingers)

It must be awfully hard to strike out on your own when your dad is EVH. Who takes you seriously? Who doesn't say, "hey, there's Eddie's kid playing bass...?" Who doesn't think jamming with this snot nosed kid will lead to meeting the great EVH? First world problems .....
