Don't ya just hate when you pull the price tag off the neck of your basses and it leaves a little gooey rectangle in it's place? j/k-awesome bass there Yvon!

I've been playing the bass for a few hours so far, and it sound great!
My favorite sound is, everything flat and neck pick up only. The neck pick up sound great, very open sounding.
With both pick up on, the sound is a little darker, I think it will sound great in a band setting.

May I ask why the trus rod access cover is not centered?

and no, this is not PD using JP's account :D

Just jumped to my eyes now and it's pretty late here (1:16)

    Peace, JP

  12. This is probably speculation, but maybe Lawrence figures that the treble side has slightly higher total tension than does the bass side, and thus the truss rod should be offset to compensate.

  13. Nice! I've played a few KLs and they were all fantastic instruments.

    Congrats!!!

I took a picture quite fast of my headstock with no truss rod cover...
And the truss rod is not centered...
I would like to know why??
Anybody can tell me how to reack Mr. Lawrence?
I tried on the net, and there is nothing!!

    Thank you

Wow... I never noticed that in the entire time I had it!! So much for this former squid's attention to detail!! Having bought it from The Low End, it was not mentioned on there either, so I guess Brian Barrett missed it as well...

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm.. :meh:

I'm sure Ken had a reason for it.. knowing his reputation I can't see it any other way..

Yvon, you might want to get in touch with "Bass Alone" out in Cali.. I think Joe knows Ken and could probably answer any questions you may have.. Maybe even put you in direct contact with Ken..

Sounds like a good explanation to me. It would make sense to do this on any bass, due to the uneven string tension. It also makes sense to do it on any bass with an assymetrical neck due to the offset neutral axis - but of course you would be shifting the truss rod to the thinner side of the neck, which could cause structural problems if you went too far.

It's pretty unlikely that KL did it by mistake, his work seems to be impeccable.

Yeah I thought about Dave, but the last couple of times I contact him he was not very helpful...I don't know why...

I will try the E-mail prog gave me and we'll see from there
