Alright Peter! Welcome to the club. I just love mine. I know that you are going to be real happy with yours.

I can't wait to hear what kind of music you've got up your sleeve with that beauty.

Please let me knw what kind of strings that you finalize with on yours.

That's some beautiful figuring on the wood, congratulations. :)

In a beautiful world, I would have a 435. It would be nice, anyways.

I'd love to have a 535 someday. But I'll settle for the two I already have.

Congratulations Peter!! Gard is indeed a great guy, and we're lucky to have him as a member of the TB community. He's also trying to help me on an acquisition right now.

Your bass looks great! my 535 has a maple burl top, ash body, maple neck, and Wenge fretboard. From what little I know about the tonal response of woods, your all Wenge neck is going to impart a really serious punch to your tone, and your ability to cut through the live mix of a band.

Let us know how things go at the first gig you use it on.

Congrats... that bass is beautiful. I hope you will find enough "value" in it !

Mine is the one below on the bass central MTD page (got it in a trade with another TBer) :

    Oh yeah. Why?

    Wenge neck and fingerboard
    Killer burled maple top
    Assymetrical neck
    3-band EQ with adjustable midrange
Some kind of advanced tuning system I know nothing about

Ari, does your bass looks to be a myrtle burl with a tulip wood body, no?

Dang, Peter! 4 wood neck basses in 3 months? What is this world coming to?:p

Congratulations! Those Fenders are pretty, but that MTD is a work of art. And a wenge neck! If I can ever afford an MTD, that's what I want.

  16. Nice bass, pd! Congrats!!

    Looking forward to hearing it!

  17. Peter: Love that burl top and the overall "look" - congrats on the new baby!!! (GARD is an evil pusher...)

I suppose that is Buzz Feiten's system with the 0-fret. Buzz was a great player in his days with Paul Butterfield, and his tuning solution to guitar open chord tonality issues is quite creative. I don't think it makes as much impact on bass, but I haven't heard any basses using the system - I'd be interested in your opinions after playing it a while.

  18. Congrats man, that's a SWEET bass.

  19. I believe quite a few Washburns are like that!
