Not quite sure if this is the right forum to be posting in but ile give it a shot. I want to make a wooden pickguard for my SX bass because the tortoise one they gave me looks like sh*t. First i was wondering if it would be possible to just take a piece of veneer and glue it on the existing pickguard and just cut around it and sand down the edges. If the wood wont adhere properly to the plastic, how do i go about making a whole wood pickguard? Would i trace it on to a thin piece of wood then take a jigsaw to it?
  2. im not quite sure what size you should use, but its a good question...

take a ruler or something else that you can measure with.. and try to get the thickness of the pickguard... then look for a piece of wood thats the same thickness.. and go to town...

f holes would be cool too...
