I have decided to sell this awesome Wood&Tronics 33" Scale Chronos 5 string bass to go with something with a more traditional look.

In full disclosure I will let you know that I paid $3698.38 (2820 EURO) for the bass with case and I have already located a replacement bass and will offer this bass for $3500 shipped OBO and take a hit for what I hope is a quick sale. No Trades please.

The bass is an amazing piece of W&T craftsmanship and was originally made for W&T's wood provider Sergio using the finest woods in his collection. Enrico from W&T considers this bass to be one of his top 10 builds.

Here is the description I received from Enrico:
Neck: 7-piece combination (from side to core to opposite side): LIGNUM VITAE/EBONY/ASH/ASH/ASH/EBONY/LIGNUM VITAE.
- Two 0.6mm Ebony separation laminates between Ash sections.
    - Ash is quarter-sawn: the veins are straight along their length for optimised resonance transmission.
    Heel block: Blue Mahoe
Tongue: Orange Osage
    Fretboard: Ebony

Frets: 24
    Fret size: Mandolin size
Position markers on the fretboard: Abalone

Body wood: Koa
Separation veneer: Black
    Top: Camphor Burl

Pickups: Bassculture/W&T custom Alnico 5 Dual Coils with layered and Ebony-topped cases
Pickups placement: Matt Garrison/Janek Gwizdala spacing
Tuners: Schaller – Ruthenium finish

Bridge: ETS 2-piece – Ruthenium finish
Preamp: East/W&T 3-band preamp with internal frequency presets.

What is the lamination on the back of the headstock?

It almost looks like a piece of metal in the pictures. Maybe a closer pic of the heastock/back?

Cannot afford this, but damn is it beautiful! Out of curiosity, what is Matt Garrison/Janek Gwizdala spacing? They are some of my bass heroes.

I'm not sure what wood was used on the back of the headstock for the lamination but it is indeed wood and not metal. Looks beautiful in person.
