My trusty (and somewhat rusty) workingman's 10 needs a speaker replacement. I started looking around on the Eminance site, but I have no experience with their speakers. As I'm sure many others have done this, any suggestions? I would want something that has a good general sound as I play country to straight-ahead.

  2. Hi.

I have heard that the Deltalite II is a good replacement.

I have the Hartke XL in mine ATM, but one of these days I'm going to swap it for a Deltalite.

Why don't you get one from SWR? It'll be matched to the amp.

Years ago I had a speaker issue with my SWR box. Since I
lived near the factory, I went there to get another speaker.
They were using four different 10in speakers depending on
the box and even which version of the box using 10's.

In other words, they tuned the box for the speaker, or vice
versa. The best outcome will be with a speaker designed for
that box or very close to it. Get the box specs and match a
    speaker accordingly.

As much as I love my little WM10, its my least favorite combo
for upright bass I've ever used.

  5. Hi.

For me it was purely a financial desicion.

    The SWR replacement (Eminence): 160€
    The Eminence Deltalite: 80€
    The Hartke XL (Eminence): 65€

To my experience, except for the Deltalite ATM, is that those speakers are "close enough" to eachother to be used in the WM10 enclosure.

I did model the Deltalite with the Eminence designer though, and it looked good.
