Workingman's 15 vs. Hartke 1410

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Rick Martin, Apr 2, 2004.

  1. So I got the Hartke used for $250 and spent $78 getting it fixed up and I got the SWR on ebay for $285. The Hartke is their 140 watt head and two of their aluminum 10" cones. The SWR is a 160 watt (I think) head and a 15" speaker. I've had a few days to really A-B these muthas right in my own home and I think I like the Hartke better. It's real close, but I think the sound of the Hartke is a little bit more defined. The SWR sounds great, but I only need one, so I think I'm going to try to sell the SWR. The SWR has an out jack for a second cabinet and I'd like to hear how it sounds hooked up to the Hartke speakers, but I don't see how to get into the Hartke cabinet to plug a long enough speaker cable to it.
