Worship Bass Pedalboards

You all know that it's considered idolatry by many to worship bass pedalboards, right? I mean really, a better thread title could have been chosen. 
I forgot you had an LA-1A and I guess I didn't know you had a Studio One. Nice board. When I see nice little boards like this part of me thinks just stay with what I have instead of changing to a digital alternative.
<staring at the lighting remote>Are you in charge of the worship band's lighting? And, how do you operate that pedal with your feet- toes?
Remote for LED lights under the board. If you look close there is a red glow.
It's a good chunk of change for sure, but it was the pedal that convinced me that tubes, do indeed, make a difference. I followed that purchase up with a REDDI tube DI.That LA-1A, my one pedal I want so bad and just can't bring myself to buy...
I should not look at this thread. I'm going to second guess my thoughts of going simple, inexpensive and digital. I love and appreciate the sound of all these great pieces of gear. The LA-1A, REDDI, Empress Bass Compressor, on and on. But, I can also appreciate that a digital modeler can get me maybe 90% of the way there (maybe not in my ears but in a FOH mix at church or a club or outdoor festival) for minimal expense and ultimate convenieance - once patches are tweaked and set.
Dream rig. I can't believe you're digging the digital stomp as much right now. That really says something.
No one is as surprised as me. I haven't really done much experimenting. Just set a basic patch but it sounds really good. As good as my REDDI? IDK, but no one complained. Well, the drummer did a little but I tweaked the EQ and he was happier. I mean, it's not going to be exact, but it's probably 90% there.
I listed my REDDI so we'll see. If it sells I'll make a move. If it doesn't, I'll be happy with a great rig and just haul it around.
I may still do that anyway. The REDDI has been amazing. The Empress (I sold the LA-1A) Bass Compressor is amazing as well.
I have used effects when I have played guitar but never playing bass. I have now been playing bass on our worship team 15 years and have never found the need to use any effects. We also play up to date worship music old and modern. Can you tell me what you get from using effects playing bass. I am like I said a guitar player and I do like a good reverb also a little delay playing some lead parts. But bass I don't know.
I have never been much of an effects user. Compression and some occasional dirt. That's one reason why I'm not in a hurry to get an HXS for myself. I also believe a solid bass tone sets the groundwork for everyone else's "fancy" stuff.
I am still curious about an "all in one" solution, and even if I don't use effects, the HXS is that. The soon to be released Bergantino preamp pedal/DI would also be an "all in one" option.
At this point, I'm fine using the HXS at church and my analog stuff for my cover band and other playing. But I am still looking into smaller, all in one digital options.
So, uh, what are you actually getting at? Curious about effects or just another "no effects purist" trolling the effects forums? Cause if you're playing modern worship then you would know that they be using effects. Overdrive, fuzz, chorus, toobz. Do you need them? No. Are they cool? Yeah.
If you're interested try some out, overdrive, fuzz, chorus, those are my mains for worship, many others use many others.
If you like reverb and delay on guitar, it's even better on bass.

I know that they are and I have seen them use them and that's cool. I use the volume and EQ on my amp and bass. I have never had a complaint from any of the band members. And any other bands I have played in. I think your style and technique and how well you practice and can play can make are break you. I have my amp crank sometimes but control it with the volume on my bass and can get different sounds with the EQ on my bass. But each to their own I guess . I guess I do alright they keep asking me back.
Nope just know pedals just guitar and amp I set it and leave but I guess you can call it effects . When you turn your amp on a set the EQ you're changing the effects of the amp same with the EQ on your bass. I just turn the amp on plug guitar straight in and play. You can change all the words around you want to but I use know out side effects but it's great and okay if you do.
for me - we don't use any amps and use in ear monitoring - I found that DI non fender style bass to a team of amateur pa folk with a new digital desk wasn't great for anyone.
my effects give me a little more control over eq and other than that send a more polished amp like signal to the desk so it can slot in thr mix easier
