    Hey Guys,

I am just writing to tell you about the worst buying experience that I have had in my short life. I ordered two sets of strings from www.getstringscheap.com (Dean Markley Blue Steels and DR Lo-Riders). Overall it cost me $56 which I was very satisfied with. On there site it says it takes 2 days for instock items to ship and 5-10 for other items. Well it has been nearly a month and I have not received the strings. I emailed them 4 times and I have never received a reply. I am furious and now I have to go order some new strings (from another site of course!).

I just wrote this to warn others to take caution when ordering from getstringscheap.com. I guess they were cheap for a reason. Has anyone else had an experience like this.

"Calling all cars, calling all cars. Be on the lookout for a string seller named Herm, he is intonated and is extremely dangerous...."

Seriously, go to the top of the page and use the Search function for Herm. Give him a Private Message or an email and let him know what is going on. That was his business and he ceased operations. But he's a really good guy, so let him know.
  3. Rickbass1,

I have to correct you on this one. getstringscheap.com was not my business. My business was called StringsForCheap.com.

The business you guys speak of is called "The tuning Peg", and the owner took the url getstringscheap.com after I had my business up and running for a few months. I'm assuming to try to trick people into coming to his site instead of mine.

Yes, I have closed my business for operations. I never would have let anybody hang for a month without at least letting them know what the status of their order was. There are plenty of TB members here that will vouch for that. Please don't get the two confused. There was a big difference in customer service thoery between us.

I have a few sets (all 4 string) left in stock that I'll sell you guys for a hell of lot cheaper than that guy, if you want them.

I have never dealt with the Tuning Peg because of what I've read here and elsewhere. I was kind of wondering if they had solved their customer service problems, but it doesn't look too good.

I have bought strings from www.juststrings.com and had good service. I haven't tried www.bigcitystrings.com, but I e-mailed them once to ask a question and recieved a reply the next morning, so I'll probably try them eventually. Some here have used www.sheetmusicplus.com with good results. The only real negative comments about on-line string purchasing have been about the Tuning Peg, and I've seen plenty.

Do a search of this forum for the Tuning Peg, and you'll see plenty of complaints.

Herm - My sincere apologies. I'd never bought from either them or you, so I didn't make the distinction with the names so similar, (incredible, don't you think?)

I was thinking along the lines of Lane Poor, that is, the website was up and active but the business was kaput!

Sorry for any confusion. However, I stick by my statement, "Herm is a really good guy."

I bought a set of DR's from the tuningpeg.com. They took three months and numerous emails to get the strings to me. Are they still using that lame, "We are re-organizing our warehouse" excuse?
I would NEVER use them again.

I have been using http://www.juststrings.com for a couple years now and am loving it. No bad experiences at all and fantastic customer service (you actually can talk to helpful people on the phone!)
  8. I'll stand up right now and vouch for it. I bought some of Herm's closeout stock and am 101% satisfied both with the product and the great service.

FWIW, I'm buying from BP Strings now, and getting great service there also.

The Tuning Peg is a once in a lifetime sales experience. I know I'll never go back again.

    I'll cast a vote for juststrings.com

I've used them plenty, all positive results.
  14. Aw Shucks! Your making me e-blush! No apology neccesary my friend, I totally understand the confusion - I just wanted to make it clear.....

JustStrings.com is a very reputable company, and I can endorse their business (now that I no longer compete), but.....

I don't like to use this forum for selling my left over inventory, but this thread lends itself to it (sorry Paul).

For those interested in 4 string sets, I still have a good supply at insanely low prices. You won't get these prices anywhere, and these prices are only for fellow TB'rs!

I'm a little late here, but I will vouch for Herm as well.

Herm, those SR2000's were just what I was looking for in a string, and they were insanely cheap.

Thanks for helping me find my new string of choice, and thanks for the great deal!:)
