Worth it for a project?

You'd be better off to buy a used Bronco for $125 and use it as a test mule for swapping pickups.

I'm a Kay fan, but there is nothing above average about any part of that bass, and the pickups are just so-so. The comments about the neck and the electronics, plus the $40 shipping, are enough to put me firmly in "No go" territory. Maybe if I lived close and could pick it up, and if it didn't go higher...I'd give it a try. But I'd want it at $66, not $88.

  2. If you want it for a project, sure. I wouldn't pay more than $70 for it. (The seller didn't even spell Taiwan correctly. Proper spelling is usually one of the things I look for with eBay sellers. It shows attention to detail.)

You'd have a hard time getting parts to fit, and if the neck is bad it is best suited for a dumpster.

  5. Or go to Guitar Center's used site to search. There are used basses selling from $39.99 (obviously in various states of condition), but at least you could buy & have it sent to a store nearby you. Try it and then you have the choice whether you want to keep it or not.

  7. Which province? Is your home near the border? I'm in Vancouver, which isn't too far from Washington state.
