    Dear bass-friends,
My Fender Precision unfortunately got stolen in March 88 in Amsterdam. 32 Years later I decided to start a search to find it and get it back!
This starts with identifying the exact serial number. Regrettably, I don't have any more details then the attached pictures. As far I can see/guess 523871/523874 or 528874/528871, but not sure.

    - Is there an expert that can help me identifying the right numbers?
    - And therefore identifying when/where it was built? (The Fender decoder indicates with these numbers: 'Production year: 1973 or 1974, Made in Fullerton, USA', which could be possible). IMG-6450.jpg IMG-8579.jpg
    -
What type was it? Any more specs? (It had a black body, maple neck, and I exchanged the original bridge -still have it- for a badass bridge).
Any help would be very much appreciated,
Wishing you all a great 2021!
    Rik

Super newbie here, I am no expert, but I have a 1974 P bass and the serial number is on the neck plate. Going by the picture and my poor eye sight I am guessing the last number to be a 6 Good luck with your search. Hopefully you can dig up some better pictures.

  3. Headstock Logo looks like an late 70s. Late 76 or after.
The serial at the headstock starts with either 76 or S6 / S7.

  4. There's a fair bit of overlapping numbers with Fender but based on what's legible it appears to be a '76 due to the size of the logo and the headstock location of the serial number. The tug bar became a thumb rest and black pick guards appeared in '74 as well.
This is mostly internet guesswork as the serial numbers were for the accounting dept. and weren't intended to accurately date construction and you've probably already looked at different dating sites that contradict each other.
Good luck. Hope you find her. :)
