    doesnt look like it has a truss rod. so the tension on your bass strings is probably going to snap the neck.

    on the other hand, i could be totally and utterly wrong.

    Get a real acoustic bass. Even if the strings didn't snap the neck, they probably wouldn't intonate correctly. Or project well without a the big body of most acoustics.

    Not worth all the modifying neccesary, only to end up with a piece of junk.

    Not gonna work. First of all, it's 6" too short for a short scale bass, the strings will be way too floppy and less than articulate. Also, a body that small will project almost no bass.

    If you want an in expensive acoustic bass, the way to go is Olympia. They are the budget line of Tacoma. Great stuff, even with a laminate top!
