optimally run 2 ampeg svt810e cabs?

or should i say, would the amp have enough power for both of those cabs or would i be underpowering so much that it would sound like poop?

You need more than one? :p

It would work. After all, the old SVT's were designed to power two 810 cabs.

I got to use my old 400+ head with a 'house' SVT 810 once, and it was spectacular.

its not an old svt. its a mesa 400+
  5. ive heard the 400+ and 2 ampeg 8x10s...sounds awesome

  6. They're both ~300W tube amps, so Popinfresh's comment is sound. The SVT can power 2 810s, so it stands to reason that the 400+ can. The fact that the cabinets can handle 1600W each (or whatever it is) is all but irrelevant.

Hi-fi into an old tube amp
I think I read an article on the Mesa site about some metal bassist who uses the 400+ to power 2 Powerhouse 8x10's. It can definately be done. Too bad you'll want to hire a moving crew every time you play a show :p
