Would this be a good setup??

  1. Hey Steve, Whats new?

If you remember I have been asking you for some advise regarding a looper/sampler. I have decided on the Echoplex. Let me tell you what I plan to get and tell me if you think it would work out alright.

    -GK 400RB
    -SWR Goliath Jr(2X10 + a horn)
    -Gibson Echoplex w/ footcontroller
    -Boss VF-1
    -Furman power conditioner
    -Toneworks DTR-2 Rack Tuner

How does this look? Do you think this could work out? One thing about the Boss VF-1, what do you think would be a good midi footcontroller without getting too expensive? Thanks a lot

    Nate
PS: Once I get this all together, probably in a few months, could you give me some tips about setting it up?

    Hi Nate,

that all looks fine, though I know nothing about Power Conditioners at all (no-one ever uses them in the UK - no need to) - the amp and cab set up is going to give a very clean hi-fi sound, so hopefully that's what you're looking for.

The VF1 is a great choice - was playing with one the other day that a student of mine brought round - great sounds, good editting options...

As for foot controllers - there are some cool little ones from Roland and Boss I think, though if you want expression pedals built in, check out the ART X-15, Lexicon RP-1 or the Behringer thingie (can't remember the name of it...) I've had good experiences with Nobels foot controllers as well...

sounds like a fine set up to me!

    cheers

    Hey,
Since this is talking about set-up. I'm gonna see if mine is alright.

    What I have:
-Peavey Mark lll Xp Series (I'm looking for a new head)
    -SWR Workingman 210T
    -Peavey BX-Bw 115

I'm a long time bass player, about 4-5 years(I'm better than the years say, but a short time gigger
(If thats the right term )
If you can explain to me about my setup and what kind of head I should get that would be much appreciated. I'm looking to buy alot more stuff to improve upon my sound.

I'm kind of a floating bassist, like a bass player on call. I play styles like punk/rock, improv jazz and jamming(like Phish and Widespread Panic), and hardcore heavey death metal.
If you can suggest some tips and ideas of a new head and tell me about my current setup I would absolutly be very grateful. I hope this isn't confusing.
