meh...not a bad starter bass. I'd likely save up and get a entry level/mid range bass.

$100 for a name-brand, decent quality p/j bass? Absolutely. It's worth buying just to have a bass you can leave in your rehearsal space.

It's not a bad buy but for $200 you can do a whole lot better, e.g. with a Kramer Focus or with some Ibanez Roadstars. Much better hardware, old wood, lousy pickups but it's not that the Court has better ones.

  6. It's nah from me, but not because of the brand or the shape or the price or the colour. I own a Status Mark King bass and everything else pails in comparison.
If your question is "would I buy this bass as a beginners instrument" I'd still say nah. Try a MIJ-made Fender P instead.

An MIJ Fender p/j will cost, minium, $300.

I bought my 2004 Fender Jazz Bass V for $175. So, I'd probably hold out for a better deal.

    Better deal than $100?

I think it is a great deal for $100 if it is playable.

Seriously? Your bass is super high end and a CIJ Precision would be approx $600. The bass in question is $100 with a cable and tuner.....

I don't think the Cort would PAIL in comparison to a CIJ Fender at 1/6th the cost.

I would scout your local guitar stores for a used Squier Vintage Modified P bass or even a recent Squier Jag. You would be in the $125 to $250 range with one of these and they'd be better than Cort. You'd get a 30 day return guarantee in case you dont like it. You will even find a brand new Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Electric Bass Guitar Special, Item #H71306 at guitar center for $199. So, I'd recommend you spend just a little more and get something better, with a guarantee. If you get it from guitar center, they have a coupon for $15 off as well.

get it, it's name brand, price is right functional and players tend to ding and damage their 1st guitar.

    Personally I'd pass on it.
Cheap p's are common on craigslist and can often be found for well under $100.
Also keep in mind anything you pick up used and cheap like that is most likely going to need a good setup.

This. By the time you put on New strings, your up to $120. Setup, another $35. New Squier jag @ $185+tax or used Cort at $120-$155. I know what I'd pick...

IF you need a bass to get started with, or have always wondered how a P-style bass would fit you, then sure, for $100 as long as it plays OK you are not getting hurt.

If you have other basses and are thinking about it as a resale item, don't. It's not going to make you any money at resale.
