Sorry I meant would you USE this app?

I have an idea for a (free) web app aimed at musicians who make their own song charts, and I wonder how useful others might find it.

The basic idea is that you see an interface that lets you lay out chords, lyrics, repeat signs etc on a staff -Everything short of actual notation. You can then save or print it.

It basically would save one the trouble of writing out a chart for everyone in the band.
Also, most freeware notation programs (eg finale notepad) have horrible measure layouts,
and this one would allow a strict 4 or 8 bar per line chart.

what do you guys think: useful or pointless?

  2. Why a web app? Just to be difficult?

But yeah, it sounds like a good idea, as long as it's actually better than the alternatives. Since there are already ways to do this, execution is going to be what makes or breaks the project. Seems like a pencil, a dollar, and a copy machine would work well too though.
