I felt this one had to be shared, just found this on my local kijiji (like Craigslist)

I don't want to spoil the surprise, so please read the ad description. I am not sure if this guy is serious or not, although he apparently has previous experience.

I think he is 100% serious.
Would I take the gig? - Absolutely not...

I'm not qualified. I don't have the experience.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Bet you get to play a lot of Village People songs "...it's fun to stay at the Y M C A"

    Oh hell yes.

This idea is solid gold and, if properly executed, the people involved stand to make a lot of money.
  7. Sounds like fun!
I've played at enough gay bars and stuff that I know they pay very well and dance all night given the opportunity.

I'm not really into playing funk, so I would not be interested.
  9. I don't see why not.

I don't mind playing funk but I don't watch porn and I'm not gay.

Personally, I think the guy is an idiot. I can't imagine there is much of a market for the type of show he wants to do.

    Are you kidding me?

He would not be able to take a night off with how much work he would get in San Francisco.

Yeah, I know, ha ha, San Francisco. But I can almost guarantee the same story in nearly any major city - it's not gay men who are the target audience here, it's hipster chicks, the ones having hen parties, AKA, where anyone will tell you the REAL money is in playing live music.

The only way to make it better is to have a Karaoke segment of the set.

No doubt it could be a real money-maker. But it's not my cup of tea.

I'd probably do it. It would be hilarious.

    I think you're right.

The venues/customers would be limited, but there's probably BIG money to be made, and no Pay 2 Play nonsense.

I think the guy has a great idea for a market niche. I wouldn't do it regularly but I might be willing to do some sub gigs with them.

I suppose that guy will need to wait just a little longer to find a like minded fellow. For me that would be a NO WAY! Gay porn? Yuck.

    Lol, thread over!

Not gay or into porn, but it sounds like someone's idea of a great time! Kind of like the "would you play a nudist camp" gig with a different twist....breaking taboo is one of the many things music accomplishes.....all kinds of breakage in that scenario....
