    Thinking about getting one.
Which do you like better on bass and why ???

  2. I believe we have two people here who are still waiting for their Battering Rams.

Have you seen grygrx' reviews for them? They seem to be pretty different boxes, enough so that they aren't even really comparable, tone for tone.

Ask excane, he has both. Oh wait, he got banned. Again.

I've never used an Attack Goat, but I quite like ye olde Battering Ram. Lots of lows on the distortion side, which sounds very TS-ish to me. The fuzz side is of the octave variety, but I couldn't tell what (if anything) it was based on.

Ok. I have never used the Goat. But the Battering Ram is REALLY REALLY GOOD. The fuzz can add that 'finishing-touches' sizzle and it is beautiful. Try one out...seriously!

I am one of the 2 waiting on my Battering Ram. Listen(watch) grgrx's review on Bassfuzz.com and you'll see it is a very versatile. I can't wait to get my greasy paws on this. I ordered it last week so according to the website it will be here sometime later this week.

The impression I get is that the Goat is a semi-octave-up blendable fuzz?
Almost seems gated at times. I dunno really, it sounds quite unique.

The Ram on the other hand seems to be an OD->Fuzz unit.

Ram is a OD/Fuzz, they run parallel.

Valerus is right it is a od/fuzz but it also has an octave switch on the fuzz side.

I am hoping this purchase doesn't turn into another fiasco. I had previously ordered a Bluebeard by Sonny and Sanford. While speaking with Sonny on the phone I got the impression he was a good guy but a few weeks after said shipping date and a few emails unreturned I decided to purchase The Battering Ram instead. Hopefully my order will arrive shortly.

Mine took 2 months to arrive. Preston was prompt whenever I'd bug him for an update. I wouldn't worry.

Waiting is just how things go when you order direct from single-dude operations who build one pedal at a time, possibly as a part-time job or hobby even.

  13. Just checked in and saw my name in the thread title.
Here's the scoop on waiting. My May and June were extremely busy at my other job doing staging and audio work for large events and concerts, added to that I had a few shows with my own bands and a short tour.
Add to that the fact that the Battering Ram is a complex and time consuming pedal to build, about twice as long as the Attack Goat, and the number of orders I received including some custom work.
Long story short I got very far behind on orders but I'm working at it full time now to get caught up. My oldest back order right now is a little more than a month but that will go out the door in the next few days and I should be able to get things down to 2 weeks or less waiting time in the near future.

    cheers

  14. steevdeadman, you are third from the front of the queue. I will ship yours Friday or possibly Monday

  15. I just got my Battering Ram yesterday. I love it so far! It is a completely different beast compared to the Attack Goat. I definitely see myself keeping it almost always on, with a touch of overdrive. And the fuzz with the octave switch on adds a nice sizzle to it. Going to have a lot of fun with this at band practice tonight.
