Yes, my friends, it's an acoustic Ashbory bass, made by some crazy Italian named Mr. Mottola. Weird, weird, weird. I think I like it.

It's got like 6 frets, or fret lines.

  7. Actually, it has 24, look at the side of the neck. Just because there is a shorter scale doesnt mean there will be less frets.

Oh, that's what I was looking at. Though I was thinking those were the markers for each "fret" and not the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, etc.

Ben Strange has an ashbury (not sure if I spelled right... too lazy to reach over to the mouse to scroll down...) and I have played one. I think we both agree that they are unique and are pretty neat all around.

  11. I've tried one too. I dig them. I'd probably buy one if the string situation was better. Apparently, you can only buy complete sets of strings and they break often.

I can't imagine that an acoustic Ashbury would be very loud. I wonder what that thing sounds like.

I do have an Ashbory. They are fun!

Only the G string breaks often. You can get a better engineered G from Mike Tavener, and they don't break. No problems with my Ashbory anymore.
