That bass is from a collaborative venture between me and Surine basses.

All I'm going to say is that you have to play one for yourself.

    I'm an Surine endorser.

I'd love to play one. That one looks like it is at a serious discount from the prices of a new one!!!

    Yes it is.

The Homage series is based off of my Sub contra bass that Scott built for me(Scott made the very first Sub Contra bass). And I asked Scott to do a standard version and since we were doing a J bass Scott wanted to name it the Homage series in honor of Leo Fender.

  5. Very nice design! Virtually perfect blend of vintage and boutique looks.

That was the main idea and I think we achieved it.

Not really a jazz bass dude myself but that is a very beautiful instrument.

And he'll do a 6 or 7 string version. It also comes in different model series.

I am not a boutique J guy, but I really like the design of that one. Well done!

    I think it looks ok.
Not all too special, but I like the looks of this one better than the looks of some other surines I have seen.

That is pretty damn cool looking. Maybe not as nice as the other Surine designs but still, I dig it!

....ah poop....I have my credit card sitting on the table for this one, but I have a policy of never buying anything the week before NAMM. i guess the cats been thrown out of the bag. My policy sucks. :bawl:

    +1.

But cool in a retro kinda way as IMO some of their basses (the Regency for example) are way over the top.
