Does anyone know what transistors W&C uses on their tall font russian pedal?

I'm building up a muff of my own right now and am using the standard transistors, but was wondering what they use.

    thanks!

I'm wondering this as well. I remember taking one apart a while back and couldn't make out the markings, maybe was blacked out?
Anyway I had built a BYOC Green Russian using 2N5089 and though it was a little gainier. My thought was to try 2N5088 to lower the gain a bit.

Most of the madbean builds use the 2n5088 transistors.

Also sounds like the resistor that is r23 for madbean is important. 2k for a bolder sound and 2k7 for warmer.

Larger R23 should result in cleaner, less gain (volume) from buffer Q4. Maybe darker (warmer?) due to less overdriven Q4?

Looks like you just want hfe of 500 or so on the transistors...
