I'm looking to buy a BSX Allegro for 1200 which I think is a reasonable price for an older Allegro/ second owner but I'd go a little higher for an Eminence R4.
..or if you have an Allegro or some other model that feels like an Upright and you want to sell it for less then 1K please let me know.

I think you'll be happy with the Eminence. I've had one for 4 or 5 years. I don't use it on the gigs that really matter to me, but for rehearsal or gigs I'm weary about, the Eminence is more portable and sounds good enough. The most like my upright this side of my upright.

    Hi TCI
Have you played the BSX Allegro?
It seems to be the only other hollow body EUB with a DB fingerboard that comes off and has a good DB sound.

I have a Yamaha Silent Bass I'm thinking of letting go. Very close feel to the big boy and I get a lot of complements on the sound. PM me if you're interested.

    Hi BobSax,
No I haven't tried the BSX. I think when I went looking they didn't have a 3/4 bass-size string length. That was a criteria for me because I didn't want to have to adjust between the EUB and my acoustic. Are there any sound clips of the BSX on-line?

The BSX Allegro has some advantages over the Eminence
    2) Made in the USA
    3) built in electronics and eq.

There is one in Berkley that may still be on craigslist.
(I have his number if it's not.)
He wanted $1800 but would take $1200.
Ebay has one that looks pretty good for $1800.
    He will also take less.
It's hard to find a used Eminence for under $2K
