x-station/one?

So...I figure that if I'm going to be recording in a few places I'll want a few options...looking to cover as much ground as possible with the fewest purchases.

I eventually intend to have a mac laptop

For home recording and ableton live integrated rig I have been looking at the Novation X-Station.

It's a hardware synth with an audio interface



I was then thinking about the new Apogee One for 'on the road' tracking and simple songwriting.



It's a single chanel USB interface with a bus powered condenser mic for half the price of the Duet.

I'm not looking for a lot of ins/outs, looking for great sounding simple gear.

Are my picks pretty sound for my goals?
