    Funny, but yeah, it's been seen before on here - hard playing on certain models of Ibanez basses (don't ask me which ones) that had a thin, fragile, flakey finish. I think they've fixed it by now? Not sure.

    From the examples I've seen I don't think anything particularly hard is required - those finishes were essentially little more than heavy dust deposits!

    Very common on Ibanez and Warwick. People insist on finishing soft wood bodies with oil.
