yamaha attitude special wiring problem

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by rougeporn, Apr 12, 2006.

  1. Hi, I have decided to attitude special but have come into some trouble. I have wired it as per the diagrams linked to below and just connected the 2 hot outputs to the jack and earthed all the pots in series. However the vol pots seem to work in series, so both have to be fully on to get any volume atall. do i need to earth the 2 sets of controls separately and connect them to the earth on the jack?

    FWIW:

don't know an attitude from a longitude but wiring is wiring no matter what bass it's in.

"the vol pots"? I only see one volume pot in either of those diagrams.

If you have a different setup, then you need to find a diagram to match what you've got and are wanting to accomplish. Fender and most of the pup manufucturers have plenty of diagrams - the color codes obviously will vary but otherwise a harness is a harness and doesn't care what passive pups run to it. Mutated diagrams will yield mutated results in my experience.

Assuming you have more componenets than the diagram shows, I'm guessing if you reduced the components to what's it the diagram and wired it as such, it would work. The volume only would be a good one for starters.

The current issue is likely incorrect wiring and could be anywhere in the harness.
