I am looking into buying a bb1100S i found. Does anyone out there have one? Is 350 a good price for it? Ive never owned a yamaha bass before, so Im not quite sure what to expect.

I had a SB100s which was stolen about ten years ago - It was a cool bass although I had a fair bit of work done on it (Neck shave, Gold Schaller tuners etc)
Yamaha seems to make very good lo, mid and high-end basses - try one out if poss.

    -cheers

I owned one for years. It was a terrific bass. Neck through with either maple or mahogany body wings, single p bass pickup, 3 band active with a toggle for passive which turned one of the knobs (don't remember which) into a passive tone control. Great tone, easy to play. They have a distinct sound (to my ear) - very fat and punchy. If it's in good shape, $350 (U.S.) is a fair price. FWIW, Nathan East used these back in the day.
