I have an old Yamaha BB300 fretted bass, I was wondering if defretting it would be a waste of time. Anybody try this on one of these models?

I think you would be very happy with it. My fretless is a BB350 (same bass with jazz PUs) and I love it. It is solid alder. Great tone. Slim neck. Plays just like and sounds a lot like a good Fender.

    You'd have a keep I am sure.

Ok,I pulled the frets out (no chipping, I am the man). Anyway, what should I fill it with? I sanded the board down, kept the dust in case I want it. I've heard everything from wood putty to super glue. (don't yell at me, search is offline). Any suggestions appreciated.
