I am selling my YAMAHA BB615 vintage 2005. It plays and sounds PERFECT. I have had the top guitar tech in the Phoenix area totally go over the bass and check out everything. NO sharp fret edges, low action, no fret rattle or buzzes. The covid-19 situation has ended ALL of my music gigs and it is time to liquidate my “non-essential” basses.

This is YAMAHA’s BB series (Broad Bass) 615 which is the 5 string model with 3 band of active eq with a 9 volt battery. It does not have any place of origin stickers but my research seems to find that KOREA was most likely where it was manufactured. The bass weighs 9 pounds on my digital scale. It features an Alnico P bass pickup and a ceramic J bass pickup with a blend control on a 34” scale.. I would consider this to be in GREAT condition...certainly NOT mint condition. There are some depression marks in the wood finish but no chips or anything that breaks the paint finish. There are some very light surface swirls that do not show up in a photo.

It is a GREAT sounding bass and if it were not for the current situation I would be hanging on to it. $385 will get it delivered to you via ground ship (CONUS). It has a NICELY padded bag. (not the low end type).

Some YOUTUBE videos featuring this model bass. I AM NOT THE BASS PLAYER in the videos!

How about the back of the neck? Is it smooth and dent free?

There is a slight discoloration where the palm of your hand would rub against the wood. under extremely close examinations, I mean from 1 inch away, I can see one tiny wood depression that you cannot feel with your hand. For a 15 year-old base that has been played, this still would be considered excellent condition.... not mint. 20200610_073711.jpg

I would imagine that the back of the neck could be buffed to make it appear new, but then it would not have any finish on it. Some bass players prefer a bare wood feel others like a satin gloss or full gloss. I do not want to mess with it to make it look new since that will affect the finish, and you can NOT FEEL anything unusual to the palm of your hand while playing. This is a fast playing neck and low action/no buzzing.
