Yamaha BBT500H digital amp

    Hi,

    Yamaha claims to have made the first fully digital bass amplifier (I thought Roland did), it is nice looking and weights almost nothing. Have a look:

    The thing I am sceptical about though is that it runs at a respectable 500 watts, but only at 2 ohms. Most cabs I think are either 8 or 4 ohms.
    Does that mean that it will only run at 250 at 4 ohms, or at 125 at 8 or so? Yamaha is producing cabs at 2 ohms, so it is possible to run the thing at full power.

    But I most say that the whole 'ohm' thing leaves me 'ehm...', I've only been using bass combos, and I'm not thinking about purchasing new stuff right now.
