Yamaha NE-1 Nathan East preamp info?

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Jsonnenblick, Apr 3, 2001.

  1. Hi. Has anyone tried this thing? It looks great for adding sweepable mid control (cut only) and level boost to a bass.

    (check out www.yamaha.com)

However, looks can be deceiving, so I'm seeking advice. . .

I tried one, it's ok.. nothing special really in my opinion, made the tone a bit "thin" on most settings.

I doubt he even uses it any more. If you want to sound like Nathan, get a BBEast with Eden amps and speakers. Although it looks like he's playing Trace stuff on the Fourplay DVD. He's had Eden on stage every time I've seen him live.
  4. I tried it too not a long time ago.

It is a great little box and will add warmth to the sound but I think it is not a must have for any Bass players.

If you want another toy to play with, go ahead, they are cheap anyway and maybe this will fit your setup perfectly.
