Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by bassman454, Apr 18, 2002.

  1. i was just curious if anyone has ever used one of these b4, and what the quality and reliability is of these pre-amps.
its looks pretty old so is it a fairly old style melo sound? or is it possible to get a very bright punchy sound out of this?
    thank you
please i need input as i is for sale on ebay.com.au and i need some input b4 i am going to bid on it.

These are a great value for the money, as they can usually be had for $100 or less. I toured with one for years, and still keep one around as a backup. You can see a review of it that I wrote on the Bass Gear Review Archive at http://www.bgra.net.

They won't get that annoying, almost-painful high-end that Edens, SWRs and Alembics are capable of, but why would you want something like that? PB-1s sound very musical.
