    A great light Yamaha passive bass in excellent condition, with FretFX LED strip. If you don't like the LED's they can be removed with no damage to the bass. The only flaw I can find on it is a bit of fingernail scrapes below the G string. Very hard to capture and could easily be buffed out, they are hardly noticeable. It is an Indonesia made instrument that was discontinued in 2011. Uses the very interesting AIR construction concept, which is basically hard wood outside, light wood core.

    It is a passive bass, the battery compartment is for the pickup volume lights. They dim when you turn the pickups down. If you wanted to get rid of those lights just take out the battery. Speaking of batteries, I will be including 5 new CR2032 batteries for the FretFX setup. The action is currently set really nice and low.

    I'd really prefer a sale at this point but would consider interesting trades perhaps.

    It comes with a standard gig bag (shown) that should protect it well, of course it will be boxed and protected for shipping.

    I am now covering the shipping costs in the continental US, I believe this has a rosewood fingerboard, so of course the cites restrictions make it tough for international buyers.

    Here's video with our pal Ed Friedland reviewing the 4 string version.

    @gmarcus
    Sadly I have no easy way to weigh it, I seem to recall it being under 8 lbs. I'll see if I can find the official specs.

    @KeithPas
    Yeah thanks Ed's review is what sold me on the bass when I bought it.

    It's a really solid and even, I'm pretty sure it's 34 scale, but doesn't feel that floppy.
    Here's a video that demonstrates the low B pretty well.

    Ok I just checked the official specs, by the way this model seems to still be available new in the UK.
    34" scale
    18mm string spacing
    7 lbs. 11 oz.
    So my weight guess was pretty good eh?
    Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard

    Any other questions, let me know.

  7. Just bought one exactly like this a couple of weeks ago from a fellow TBer. Absolutely a fun bass to play. The tone is great (don't know how to describe besides lively while not super growly). Only thing I'm going to do is add an led to the tone knob...because more led=more awesome.

    I highly recommend!

    Thanks bigchad64,
    yeah it really is fun to play, and I guess I'd classify it as a modern jazz tone for sure.
    I had hoped the FretFX LEDs made up for the lack of LED tone knob. Hah!

    I had a request for a sound clip, so this is it. Recorded direct, no EQ, no compression.
    Neck pickup finger and slap, Bridge pickup finger and slap, Both pickups finger and slap.
    Tone is wide open for these samples.
    And the silence at the end is just each pickup and then both with no playing.

    Any other questions, please let me know.
