Can anyone decipher these things. I have an older model double truss rod TRB-6P with 100038 as a serial number. What does it mean?

Any way to trace production date, factory, model, color, etc?

Correction, the serial number is 2P10038

I would like to know too. I can only guess that my TRB is from 1994 (serial no 4Z08077), and I would like to know for sure.

  3. I´ve also been thinking...

why is there no serial number on my Yamaha? (BB G5)

    pretty confusing...

I just got mine. It is a new, never played bass from old stock and it came with the origional service pack, tools, cord, battery, etc.

The expiration date on the battery was 1992. surely they would not have put in a battery that was out of date??? Maybe it is a 1992 model??

Someone told me that some of the early TRB-6Ps only had one truss rod. I don't know if this is correct but mine has 2 truss rods.

There is a serial # on your bass. Look at the back of the headstock between the tuning keys. The # is carved into the wood. You might have to hold it at an angle into the light to see it.
