Here is an early 90's beautiful highly figured Yamaha bass. The workmanship of these instruments are second to none and were designed to compete with basses produced in the late 80's early 90's Golden Era (Smith, Tobias, Spector, Modulus Graphite, MTD etc.). I find it to be very playable and a very effective Live and Studio bass (Abraham Laboriel has used this model extensively as well as John P). Basically I am paring down a large collection of instruments and focusing on only a few select basses to do what I would like to do musically, thus I am not really interested in trades. Thanks anyways. SPECS AAA Quilt Amber Maple top and back 5 piece neck thru 24 fret ebony board PJ active pickups with Piezo (2 position select with a Blend control of Piezo to Magnet pickups) Fingerboard Spacing 0 fret= 43.0mm . 12fret= . 65.9mm Condition 9 out of 10 Non original case. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks
Yeah man. Thanks. I've never seen one so highly figured either front and back Yes sir it is 34 inch scale.
Yes it is 34 inch scale. It is the TRB 5P II that has a 35 inch scale. I had one of those but I feel the original TRB 5P is a superior instrument and more playable because of the 34 inch scale.
these TRB 5P seem to arbor the same pickups as the venerable Taiwanese BB5000A wide, but do they also have the same wide spacing? In other words, do you get the full 3" from center of B string to center of G string at bridge saddle? I ask that cuz it has worked better for my clumsy hands and cocked eyes to measure that than the 19 mm from string to string.
????? I don't understand your rationale at all .....other than they are 2 different basses--whether the pickups are the same or not--the preamps are light years apart. It's kinda like you can put EMG pickups in a $1K Jazz bass and the same pickups are in a $12K Fodera Victor Wooten. The width at the bridge is 19 mm for both models. I have a BB5000A WIDE. However the neck is wider along its length on the BB 5000A. So I'm not sure I get ypour point. They are 2 different basses, and that's simply how I see it, one is a BB series and the other is TRB series ?
Fair point. You answered my question - 19 mm at bridge and provided additional clarification regarding neck width. Don't get me wrong, never tried one but i'm sure these are great basses.
