Does anyone still sell these? I see them on Ebay time to time, but I don't think I've seen any place online that still carries the original John Myung bass.

Sorry if this post is out of place, but I've been wanting this bass for a long time. It plays like it was designed for me

Also. My other option is an 6 string BTB directly from Ibanez the $512.00. This bass looks decent, but the lack of 24th fret access on BEA & D bothers me for some reason

    Any thoughts?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks :)

Yamaha has discontinued the original RBXJM, and it has been replaced with the RBXJMII.
I'm not sure what the changes are, but if you're familiar with the original, a visit to the Yamaha website will help you out.
  3. A few changes include different pups, the flashy inlay on the original is no longer used and its offered in different colors.

    Hi Zac,

I happen to own "THE" original prototype for the John Myung bass. It's a handbuilt instument from the Yamah custon shop. I was an endorser for them for about 10 years. I recently switched to ZON basses.

    I'm considering selling my Yamaha.....if you're interested.

Please contact me off list and we can discuss it if you'd like.
