Appreciation thread really. I've been to other music forums and there just too much uptightness or craziness. Don't really want to rant as I've calmed down and best to focus on the positive.

    That's all! Keep on thumping!

I love goats and to me bass players are goats, although some(bass plaers) think they are hawks

I'm a big fan of Moroccan goat stew.
A place here in Dublin, now sadly closed, used to do a great version.

For a while I lived on a farm with horses, turkeys, a few cows and...goats. I think I'll pass on being compared to a goat.

The moderators do a great job keeping an eye on threads and posts. Keeping things politically correct and keeping us behaved.

Like with any social media, the best of courtesy, tact and respect is necessary with TalkBass in order for us all to get along. We all have to think before we post a comment or a thread. What effect will "this" have to others?

So actually, we all have to self censor ourselves.

With bass related threads and posts, we all do pretty good with each other. But, there are a lot of "off-topic" threads here also and IMO, that's where we all have to be very careful.

    Yes, the mods are watching.

Great thing, TalkBass! LOVE IT! (I don't belong to Facebook so TalkBass is my Facebook.)

Our family adopted six baby goats this past spring. They have doubled in size and they are eating their way through so many overgrown areas on our property.

The moderators have done a great job of "cleaning things up" over the past year or so.

I'm on a liquid diet for an MRI study tonight at 5. Afterwards, I think I'll stop at Nawab for Indian goat curry.

The moderators here are excellent, very best I've encountered across multiple forums. They're very neutral and truly fair in their approach, at least in my experience (unlike those at various motorcycle forums and synth forums I've been on).

Try a forum for hobbies other than music. Holy crap. Old men drinking and trolling.
  12. Like any place, some bad and some good. But unlike another forum I used to frequent this one is mostly good so I let the bad roll off.

I've learned alot of useful information and like to think I shared a little bit too.

I have no experience with any other forum anywhere on any topic ever. This thread tells me I've made the right call in that respect. (Thank JahBaba because I spend too much damn time here to suffer sub-basement-dwelling troglodyte get-a-lifers.)

Mostly good, but there are a number of members here that just feel the need to piss on everybody's parade. There are other good forums - Gretsch-Talk, Telecaster Discussion Page, Strat-Talk are all well moderated too.
