Yet another De-fretting question

    I did it, and used both of the above sites for reference. Another good place to check out first is the BassPlayer Magazine website, and search the archive for Rick Turner's column as well. I ended up putting a polyurethane coat on the neck after playing it bare (the neck, that is) for around 3 months. Everyone is right, you gotta have the roundwounds to get the "mwah" factor, but they do eat up the wood! BTW, another useful tip is to save the rosewood or ebony dust from when you sand(and you WILL sand!). Mixed with a drop of crazy glue, it comes in handy filling in gaps and various dings in the fingerboard.
