You can only have 1 bass, and it has to be one of these:

OK, imagine (god forbid) that you can only have 1 bass. It has to be either:
1: an all original 1963 Precision Bass or
2: Brand spanking new Status Stealth 2.

You will not be allowed to sell the P and buy an expanded collection ok?!

Well, I have two P's and a Status Graphite KingBass. If I had to keep only one, it would be a very tough choice, but at the moment, I think I'd probably go with the Status.

I would think it would depend on the kind of music your into. That is def not an apples to apples comparison. I voted the pbass, and without a doubt that would cover EVERYTHING I would need it for.

If I was more into proggy, jazzy, acoustic, or other types of music I would have chosen the status.

Im into rock and roll and there is no better bass IMO than a good ol pbass for rock, especially a 63.

Just sold my Status Series II this week :meh: , leaving two P Basses in my collection.

The P Bass always sounds like "a bass", whereas the Status just doesn't do that flat, Motown thud, even when you dial in the bass. Not really a versatile instrument, imo, but good at the old slap thing.

Easy choice for me .. P Bass all the way!

P basses are great but I like more modern basses. But COULD I gig my whole life with a P if I had too ... not doubt about it.

keep the status.....if something every happened to the '63...it couldn't be replaced....if the status goes missing, you can track another down pretty easily...plus, some places I play, I have to plug direct into the system and the sound guys can't eq a passive bass to save their lives...but for some reason can dial in an active bass..

If I could have only one bass, and it had to be one of those, I would stop playing. Not because I have anything against either of them, but because that "rule" is so darn silly. In other words, I pretty much agree with bovinehost, except I'm not much for violence.
  19. p all the way.. but how many threads are there like this?
