Got tired of my SWR SM-500 after a while. Good amp, but just wasn't my thang. Don't get tired of any of my current amps, though.

I, too, get tired of the SWR Sound. The amp was reliable but I struggled with it tonally.

  6. I am tired of my MarkBass Jeff Berlin 151p. Seems like I can't get a decent sound I like, it seems sterile to me. I have had it 8 years bought new. Now it sits in the corner of my music room with a cover over it.

Not the same as the SM500.

Yes; all time. I have a fairly large collection of amps that I rotate through. When an amp first comes into its playing rotation, I always think it sounds awesome. But after a fairly short time, I get a bit bored with it. No big deal, that's the sign to move on the next amp.

I have been through more amps than I care to admit. Some of them were and still are TB favorites. Some of them I just did not get along with and some were worth more to someone else than to me. there are a few I wish I had kept but Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. So the answer to the question is yes

I have a bit of a hate/love relationship with my main amp. Whenever I play it, I notice a few shortcomings in the sound (maybe too bright and a bit clacky, preamp goes from pleasing overdrive to all-out fart too quickly, not enough actual low end) - but whenever I play a different amp, I find myself trying to make it sound like my main! Which often ends up in a disappointment and makes me realize the sonic qualities I favor in the amp I already own.

A weird situation to be in. No brand names or model mentioned to protect the innocent - but I'd wager a lot of people know what I'm talking about.

All the time! I have gear ADD. I like to try new stuff. I have great amps these days and I STILL have to talk myself out of swapping them out constantly.

I love my Hartke LH500, but since I got the Mesa WD800 that's all I use. In fact I forget to bring it to practice last night where I get to plug it into a Hartke 8x10 and had to use the studios Ampeg B2R instead and I was depressed to say the least. ;)

I don't know if I have ever LOVED the sound of any amp I have played through.
But that may be due to the limitations of its user.

Been running around with it a lot... got me really tired. then i bought myself a little foldable Handtruck... it's all better now :p

On a more serious note, i got an Ashdown Mag300 C210 combo and i've never been a fan of it somehow but it always sounds the way i want it. I keep on browsing Bass-amp stuff on secondhand sites or stroll through the bass-amp department in the store, but then, when i plug in, it's always good. Of course, when the gigs get bigger it's not much use... but in my livingroom it also doubles as a side-table...

  19. I got tired of my YBA-200. It sounded great, IF i played a 4 string in a standard tuning. But, I play 5 strings in drop tunings and it was fart-city. Turns out I needed more power. My GK 1001RB sounds clean and full.

I keep at least three heads so I can rotate. If I decide one isn't doing it for me or I want to try something else, out goes the least fav. I get tired of any one thing over time, no matter how good it is.
