  1. How do you pronounce Jaco's first name?

Is it JAY-co or jock-O or HA-co what?

It may sound like a stupid question, but I've never heard it pronounced.

  2. jock-o

Can't one of the moderators merge this thread with the one in Miscellaneous?

I've written long and definitive proof for an "A" sound, in that one and I'm not writing it all again! ;)

  7. Yah, but Jay-Ko sounds sooo much cooler;)

No it doesn't - it sounds like the company that manufactures Jay cleaning cloths!

I must say that having heard about Jaco in 1976 and with every single reference to his name being pronounced as "Jack-O" in the 25 years since, I will always think of his name like this, no matter what anybody says!

  9. i heard it pronounce as jock-o (but the j was like the "ge" in garage

aren't duplicate, newer threads deleted or closed? (assuming the older one is still in circulation) That seems to be the right answer for this question, "Your thread is closed, read and reply in the one that already exists." :)

Anyways, everyone knows that Jaco is pronounced Gabu. :D (oops did I give away my secret identity?)

  11. Perhaps a little confort for you.. i never even heard of Jaco before coming to Talkbass.. and i've never even heard one single song by him..
