Your dream rig?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by PhatBoi5, Mar 3, 2001.

  1. What is your dream set up. Money is no concern. Keep it realistic. No 4 8x10 cabs stuff.

My set up would be all Aguilar:
    DB-680 preamp
    DB-728 Power amp
    2-GS410 cabs
    YEEESSS!!!

  3. All I want is a Mesa/Boogie 400+ with a Powerhouse 1000 cab.......For those of you that are not familiar with the Powerhouse 1000, it is a single cab with 1x15 and 4x10.....All in one cute package....And if I get the gig I am auditioning for, hell I'm gonna buy it.....I would probably put a Rack mount tuner, bass POD, and a wireless system on it....

If money were no object (I wish) all I would want would be a SWR Mo' Bass with the pedal that can do all of that neat s*** all of you know it can do. I wouldn't really care what I ran it through, just so long as it could handle the power.

However, I would like a couple of warwick terminators, or the workingman's tower.

(squirt) noise I'm making with a certain part of my body just thinking about the possabilities

Oh I gots to agree!! I just tried the Aguilar DB728 with a Ashdown RPM1 pre amp and a Aguilar 410GS cab and all I can say is, OH MY GAAWD!!!! I never knew what my bass sounded like till now!! I'm gonna go broke but I've got to have this set up! Hope to have it by next week!! This will be my first rack mounted rig so I think I'll start looking into rack effects. Any suggestions out there?

  6. A London Power Spectrum (might need 2 for the setup.. damn that'd be a lot of power) driving a Bag End ELF setup consisting of one of their 2x18's and 2 of their 4x10's. That'd be killer.

    Ampeg SVT
    Ampeg SVT 810
    Ampeg SVT 810

    All from the 70's!!!

  8. My list connsists mainly of ampeg:
    -Ampeg SVT2-Pro
    -Ampeg 8x10
    -Korg Rack tuner
    -Furman Power Conditioner
    -Cordless
    -Rack

Right now I am just going For a svt3-pro to go with my BSE-410 HLF.

  9. Tough choice

    Either

Ampeg SVT with two 810's and a 215 (preferrably Noel Redding's)
    or
Mesa Boogie 400 with 410 and 115 (if it's good enough for paul, it's good enough for me)

    Audio Pro - Ecuador
-SKB Shock 10 Space Rack Enclosure:
    -Furman AR1215 Voltage Regulator
    -Ampeg SVP-PRO Tube Preamp
    -SWR Interstellar Overdrive
    -Line 6 Bass Pod Pro
    -Senheiser Digital 1000 Wireless
    -Carvin DCM4000 Power Amp

    Cabinets:
1 Ampeg SVT-PR810H (Put in the center of the rig) (Coud be a Megoliath)
2 SWR Big Ben (One at the bottom of each side)
2 SWR Henry 8x8 (On top of each Big Ben)

This would be the punch from hell!!

  12. I guess people have different ideas of "out of Hand". I play on some big stages, and I can honestly say there has never been one where Id use 2-810s or 2-18s,2-8x8, and an 8x10. I know we as bass players love to be heard but C'mon that stuff is Stadium big

  13. Lets see..... 70's Ampeg SVT and two SWR Goliath 3s. A killer combination. Love the SWR cabs (and yes I've tried Eden, Epifani, EA, etc. The only cabs that I like anywhere near as much are Bag Ends). Oh wait, that's what I've got except I'm short one Goliath, but that's coming....
Actually, I'd also like a Drawmer 1960 tube compressor and a lexicon PCM 70 effects unit just for the chorus sound it has.:D

  14. And a Helios preamp from the 60's

  15. AMPEG!

    SVT-4 Pro Head
    SVT 810 cab
    SVT 810 cab

I'm fortunate to have my dream rig:

    1970 SVT and 1970 810 cab.

  17. Excellent, man. I covet your stack.

The only other set-up of perfection I can think of is the Sunn 2000S (?) and a pair of the 2x15 cabs, like Noel Redding used.

Dream rig? Let's see here, nothing too big - just a nice-sounding rig that can handle some work.

Cabinents (not sure on the model numbers...)
    Eden 115 XL (1x15")
    SWR Son of Bertha (1x15")
Either a SWR 2x10" or an Eden 2x10" cabinent

Amps (again, not positive on the model numbers...)
    Ampeg SVT-4PRO
    SWR SM-900
    or
    Eden Navigator Pre-amp and
some sort of nice power amp around 1000 watts or so - I've always really liked Crown though I know there's better out there...
