i was wondering about YOUR effect racks .
I had a boss ME 8 B but dumped it in the garbage bin because
there was a irritating noice every time you played something .

Then I replaced it all by compact pedals
    - All Boss - tuner TU 2 ; very easy to tune on stage or to replace your bass without any noice . a limiter - enhancer, an E Q , a digital delay/reverb and a DOD envelope filter .

Let me know your racks ....
  2. Here is my current rack

    Korg DTR 1 Tuner
    Furman Power Conditioner
    Mesa/Boogie Amp Switcher
    dbx 1066 Compressor
    Mesa/Boogie 400+
    Mesa/Boogie Basis M-2000
    Eventide GTR 4000
    Bradshaw Routing and Switching System
Rack Tray w/ Digitech Talker, Boss Distortion, Electro Harmonix Micro Synth, and custom made phaser.

impressive .... what does this power conditioner do ?
  4. It makes sure that power is evenly didvided up between all of my rack effects and amps. Thats all. Just there to keep my stuff in working condition and eliminates need for many wall warts.
  5. A minor correction;)

Actually, it just provides EMI filtering and surge suppression and has lots of outlets on it. It doesn't really divide power up. It does, however help with the wall wart thing.
  6. Spacegoat is right....my mistake

Interesting. I have two ME-8B's and had the ME-6B before that. All they do for me is work very well. What exactly was the irritating noise?

Where did you throw it away?;)

I went back to stomp boxes, and on my SKB pedalboard I have an EBS Octabass, DOD Bass Overdrive, Boss Bass Chorus, EH BassBalls, and an Akai Deep Impact. Kinda the smorgasbord of wacky. I also have the Boss stomp box tuner. Very nice, that.

hard to discribe ; a fuzz background sound ! It's heard very well with the enhancer . I let it hear to the shop owner
He said : No noice ever !! in Roland material ! then I came in with the ME 8 B . , he was a little amazed .

I also have a Roland keyboard a sheap one for newbies :) and it has it to ! a bit less , but once you hear it ....
It's logic: in a way Roland offers you a cheaper sollution for all the compact pedals . It just can't be true. A Boss Bass synth is almost as expensive as the ME 8 B . So Roland (and other firms ) uses sheaper analog / digital convertors . Witch results in noice /fuzz at the background .

    I didn't throw it away , I sold it .

I dont use much, tech21 bass compactor, {slapping} and a carl martin chorus xII , thats it!
  18. Just out of curiousity, what is the PSM-5?
  19. My latest pedalboard has:

    EH BassBalls envelope filter/distortion
    EH Q-Tron envelope filter
    EH SmallStone phaser
    EH Polychorus/flanger
    IBANEZ TS-9 overdrive
    EBS Octabass
    BOSS Limiter
    BOSS LS-2 line selector

Since I always use wall warts instead of batteries, you wouldn't believe how much this bastard weights! Also, the board has two floors, 'cause the bigh EH boxes take so much room.
